Skyrim: guardian signs. Location and bonuses of stones

Guardian stones in Skyrim are the replacement for the constellations that we know from previous parts. Now the effects of constellations are not selected once and for all at character creation, but are activated using special stones.

The first 3 of these stones will meet you on the mission "Before the Storm" (2nd task of the main storyline), on the road to Riverwood is the stone of the warrior, the stone of the magician and the stone of the thief. When you activate any of them, a permanent effect will be imposed on you, accelerating the leveling of the corresponding skills by 20%

If you forgot which stone you activated, or just want to see what effect it has on you, open the magic window -> permanent effects -> and look for a name there that starts with "Stone ..."

By using a new stone it will replace the effect of the old one. There are no restrictions on the number of changes in effects, or there is no time.

If you have played the previous games in the series, then you probably remember that at the beginning you always had the opportunity to choose a constellation (analogous to the "signs of the Zodiac") from the list during which your character was born. They gave some bonuses for the whole game.

In Skyrim, things are a little different. There is no list at the beginning of the game, and you need to look for the signs yourself throughout Skyrim. But now they can be changed at any time!

You simply find a stone, activate it, read the description, and if you like it more than your current one, agree to a replacement. You can only have one character at a time.

To simplify the search, I marked all the stones of the constellations on the map:

Guardian Stones

Guardian Stones are three stones that stand side by side, giving a 20% bonus to skill growth rate in one of three categories:

  • Mark of the Warrior(Two-Handed, One-Handed, Blocking, Shooting, Blacksmithing, Heavy Armor)
  • Mark of the Mage(Enchantment, Destruction, Illusion, Sorcery, Alteration, Restoration)
  • Sign of the Thief(Light armor, stealth, hacking, pickpocketing, eloquence, alchemy)

Guardian Stones can be found at the very beginning of the game, right on the road from Helgen to Riverwood.

Lover's Stone

An alternative to guardian stones. Instead of accelerating the learning of skills in one category, all 18 skills receive a bonus. However, instead of 20%, it is equal to 15%. If you use skills from not one, but at least two categories, the Sign of the Lover will be preferable.

Stone of the Apprentice

Doubles your magicka regeneration speed! However, at the same time, you become twice as vulnerable to enemy spells. The Sign of the Apprentice can only be used by magicians, and only to the eyeballs who have gained resistance and reflection of magic.

Atronach Stone

The amount of magic has been increased by 50 units. 50% spell absorption. Magicka recovery rate reduced by 50%. An excellent choice for warriors and thieves, because the armor does not protect against spells and dragonfire. The magicka bonus will be useful for a one-time use of spells, and the recovery speed for warriors and thieves does not matter. And for a magician, who has gained to the eyeballs the acceleration of magic recovery and reducing the cost of spells of his favorite school of magic, 50% spell absorption will be very useful.

Tower Stone

Once per day, you will be able to unlock an Expert level lock or lower. It looks like this: when you select a lock, a dialog menu will appear: open the lock yourself or with the Sign of the Tower.

Stone Serpent

Once a day, you can paralyze the enemy for 5 seconds, while he will receive 25 damage. Look for the Serpent sign in the magic menu in the talent section. It is activated by the "shout" key (Z by default).

Horse Stone

Sign of the Horse will give you an additional 100 units of carrying capacity. Also, the weight of the armor gives no movement penalty. Can be useful if you're wearing heavy armor and haven't maxed out the Hard Training perk yet.

Stone Lady

Health and Stamina regenerate 25% faster. May be useful to warriors and thieves.

Lord Stone

Grants 50 damage resistance and 25% magic resistance. Useful for magicians, because the mantle does not hold a blow at all.

Ritual Stone

Once per day, you can revive all the bodies in a certain radius around you so that they protect you. Look for the Sign of the Ritual in the magic menu in the talent section. It is activated by the "shout" key (Z by default).

Shadow Stone

Once per day, you can become invisible for 60 seconds. Look for the Shadow Sign in the magic menu in the talent section. It is activated by the "shout" key (Z by default). Wouldn't it be easier to use a spell or a potion?

standing stones (Standing Stones)- magic stones that can be found in various corners Skyrim. In total there are 13 stones corresponding to a certain constellation. Each of the stones can give some effect, and only one can be used at a time. However, at any time you can change the effect by activating another magic stone.

Guardian stones are the first of the groups of magical stones that you can meet in the game. There will be three of them in total: the Stone of the Magician, the Stone of the Thief and the Stone of the Warrior. They will be located near the exit of their cave at the very beginning of the game scenario. Your companion will prompt you to activate one of them at will.

If you have played The Elder Scrolls, then remember that at the start you were given the opportunity to choose a constellation that gave bonuses throughout the game. But this rule is absolutely not applicable for computer fun called "Skyrim". Signs, or constellation stones, are scattered throughout the vast map. Moreover, there is no specific indication of where to look for them. In this little guide, you will find out where the signs are located, as well as what bonuses each of them gives.

"Skyrim": guardian signs

Before you go in search of a particular stone, you should understand that you can only get one bonus from the constellations. That is, if you want to change the sign, have an increase from it, then the previous one will cease to operate. But thanks to the fast movement, you can always return to a particular stone and activate the bonus from it. This will help increase some of the readings in the passage of the game "Skyrim".

Guardian signs, which can be found at the very beginning of the path, are located on the river bank, near the road from Helgen to Riverwood. There are three stones here. But you can only activate one of them at a time. Therefore, before making a choice, study the bonuses from each.

Bonuses from stones

Mark of the Thief improves skills such as light armor, lockpicking, pickpocketing, stealth, eloquence, and alchemy by 20%. The Warrior's Guardian Stone grants a 20% increase in the growth of the following abilities: one-handed and two-handed weapons, shooting, wearing heavy armor, blacksmithing and blocking. Mark of the Mage increases the learning speed of skills such as destruction, enchantment, restoration, sorcery, illusion and change by 20%.

Before activating the stone, consider which path you want to take. For example, if you are trying to achieve success in military affairs, then choose the Warrior stone. And if you like spells and the subtle world of magic, then bet on the sign of the Magician.

"Skyrim". Lover's stone

This sign is an excellent alternative to the previous ones, because thanks to it you can learn all the skills and abilities at once. But, instead of a 20% bonus, the experience gain will be 15%. You can find this stone northeast of the city of Markarth.

Apprentice sign

You can find this stone in the swamps of Hjaalmarch, between Solitude and Morthal. This mark increases your magicka regeneration by 50%. But at the same time, it makes the hero vulnerable to enemy spells. So it is better to activate it for magicians who have seriously pumped up their reflection and resistance skills.

Mark of the Atronach

You can find this stone in the Eastmarch Tundra, northwest of Mistwatch and slightly south of Skeleton Crest. When the sign is activated, the hero's magic pool is increased by 50 points, and the ability to absorb magical damage is also increased by 50%. The negative effect of the stone is to reduce the speed of magicka regeneration by half.

Tower and snake sign

You can find the Tower stone on top of a mountain located between Winterhold and Dawnstar, north of Hob's Cave and west of the College. When activated, the hero will be able to open a lock of any difficulty level once per game day. At the same time, the Serpent Stone gives you the ability to paralyze one enemy once per knock for 5 seconds and deal 25 damage to them. The sign is located northeast of the Pride of Tel Vos crash site and east of Winterhold.

Sign of the Horse

This stone increases your carrying capacity by 100 units. In addition, it allows you to move quickly in heavy armor, even without the Persistent Training skill. You can find this sign in the west of Solitude. You need to go a little north from the Wolf Skull quest cave.

Other signs

Mark of the Lady, when activated, increases the speed of regeneration of stamina and health by 25%. The stone is located near Falkreath, a little south of the Depths of Ilinalta location. The Lord's Stone grants a 25% bonus to magic resistance. In addition, it increases damage resistance (armor) by 50%. This sign stands on a mountain southwest of Dawnstar, east of Morthal.

By activating the Ritual stone, the hero will be able to raise all the dead to his defense once a day. You can find him east of Whiterun, on the road to Windhelm. The Mark of the Shadow allows the hero to remain invisible for 60 seconds once a day. You can find it in the south of Riften - one of the main cities. Remember that in the Skyrim game, signs are the easiest way to get some bonuses that will be useful in passing the game. So you should definitely look for them.
