Skyrim release bug. Stormcloaks Skyrim Walkthrough

This quest controls the overall civil war for the Stormcloaks. After completing the series with the quest, you will get even closer to the liberation of Skyrim.
The overall goal of the quest is to conquer each individual holding, one at a time, by taking control of each holding's military forts. The domains that need to be captured range from completing the Endless Time, and there are many different ways to complete this quest.

If you haven't completed Endless Time, then you will only need to capture zones controlled by the Imperial Legion.

Zones controlled by the Stormcloaks will only need to be captured by choosing the Imperial Legion in the Endless Pore.

Zones controlled by the Imperial Legion will only need to be captured by choosing the Stormcloaks in Endless Pore.

basic information

After completing the previous quest, Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak will tell you that you must help lay siege to Whiterun. Speak to Galmar Stonefist, who will order you to meet him outside the city.

Go to the Whiterun military camp, which is located southwest of the city, and you will notice that the siege has already begun. Approach him and the rest of the soldiers and listen to the instructions. He will say that the final point is the bridge, which was raised to keep in order to keep the attackers.
After you gather with the rest of the troops, break in with Galmar and the others. Don't be afraid to kill too many Imperials, they will spawn. When you reach the first wooden barricade, you will encounter the first wave of enemies. Passing through obstacles is easy, hit them a few times with weapons and they will fall. Your journal will say to lower the bridge. Walk up the path to a small wooden bridge with stone walls on your side, head there, and go up the path. You will see two levers. Drop one. The bridge will lower and the soldiers will enter the city.

Ulfric Stormcloak will give you an ax (Ulfric's Battleaxe) and order you to take it to Jarl Balgruuf.

Decision-making

In order to get the next hold to be vacated, you will always start by talking to Ulfric at the King's Palace in Windhelm. Ulfric will validate any progress you've made so far and possibly give you a new rank or reward. He will tell you which holding should be conquered next, and also explain a bit why this territory is the next priority.

Next, you must go to the Stormcloaks camp, which is located in the priority area. The location of the camp will be added to the map, but usually these are unknown places, which means that you will not be able to quickly move there. Once in the camp, you need to find Galmar Stonefist, which is located in the main tent of the camp, delving into the updated map of the course of the war. If you select "Report" in the dialogue with him, he will report to you about the quest that needs to be completed.

In almost all cases, one obligatory quest "Battle for the Fort". The main quest in these battles is always the same, it's just to break through the enemy defenses. In any case, you must go to the fort and help kill all the Imperial soldiers in the fortress, your screen will be updated on a regular basis with the number of soldiers that still need to be killed.

Falkreath

Falkreath

Your first task in liberating Skyrim is usually to liberate the territories of Falkreath. In addition, he allows you to decide what to do with the Imperial soldiers at your discretion, Ulfric tells you to inform Galmar Stonefist at the Stormcloaks' hidden camp.
The only quest that must be completed in Falkreath is Fort Neugrad - saving comrades.

Limit

The Limit does not need to be captured if it was given to the Stormcloaks during the Infinite Pore.
After completing Fort Neugrad - Rescue Comrades, you will need to return to Ulfric, so travel to Windhelm and enter the Palace of the Kings. Talk to Ulfric, he will congratulate you and give you the title "Bonebreaker" and weapons, as well as permission to buy a house in Windhelm. He will order you to go to the nearest Stormcloak camp. Go to the camp and enter the big tent and report to Galmar, he will say that the manager in Markat secretly worships Tallas, so you need to find evidence and then "convince" him to help the Stormcloaks. This will start a new quest. After its completion, go back, report to Galmar and receive your well-deserved reward. Talk to him and he will order you to attack Fort Sungard. Meet with the Stormcloaks and this will start a new quest.

Hjaalmarch

Hjaalmarch does not need to be captured if it was given to the Stormcloaks during the Endless Pore.
After the battle for Fort Sungard is over, return to Ulfric in Windhelm and speak with him. He will thank you for freeing the Limit, give you a new task and an excellent shield. Go to the desired Stormcloak camp, as usual, he will tell you that you must provide false orders from the Imperial legionnaire Mortal, but first you must fake something. According to him, the inns at Rorikstead and Dragonbridge are often haunts for Imperial couriers. This starts the next quest "The False Front".
Once completed, return to Galmar at the camp and report back on the situation. He will congratulate you. will give you gold and order you to meet with people ready to attack Fort Snowhawk, this will start a new quest.

White Coast

The White Shore does not need to be captured if it was given to the Imperials during the Infinite Pore.
Ulfric will give you the title "Snow Hammer" and a shield. He will tell you to go to the Stormcloak camp to help take back the White Coast, and he will remind you that it is your fault that the Imperials own the White Coast. Go to the camp and talk to Galmar. He will tell you to meet with the Stormcloaks, who are ready to attack Fort Dunstad. This is how the “Battle for Fort Dunstad” will begin.

Rift

The Rift does not need to be captured if it was given to the Stormcloaks during the Endless Pore.
Go to Windhelm and talk to Ulfric, he will tell you to go to their camp in the Rift and put you in charge of the whole thing. Go to the camp and talk to Galmar. He will order you to meet with the Stormcloaks, ready to start the battle. This is the beginning of the battle for Fort Greenwall.

Winterhold

Winterhold does not need to be captured if it was given to the Imperials during the Endless Pore.
Go to Windhelm and talk to Ulfric. He will say that so far everything is not so bad as to refuse, so now he has to spend soldiers. Head to Windhelm's Stormcloak Camp. Go there and talk to Galmar. He will tell you to meet the Stormcloaks, who are ready to attack Fort Kastav. This is how the “Battle for Fort Kastav” will begin.

Hafingar

After completing the previous quest, return to Windhelm and travel to the Palace of the Kings to report your success to Ulfric. He will congratulate you, give you the title "Stormblade", weapons and armor. He will then tell you that the Stormcloaks will conquer Solitude in the near future and will order you to go to Hafingar's Camp for further instructions. As soon as you arrive at the camp, find Galmar and, as usual, report on the situation. He will tell you to meet the soldiers preparing to attack Fort Hragstad and take the fortress.

After completing the battle for Fort Hragstad, return to Galmar at the camp for further instructions, he will tell you that the Stormcloaks are taking the city and will order you to meet with the soldiers who have gathered to attack. This will start the Battle for Solitude quest.

After the battle, Ulfric will give you a new sword (even if you didn't kill General Tullius) and then ask you to be by his side when he makes a speech to the people. If you accept his offer, then you will have to follow him and stand with him while he performs. However, you can refuse, but he will ask you to at least stay with him, but if you don’t want that either, then go straight to the soldiers.
In his speech, Ulfric will also mention you, thank the soldiers for all that they have done in the war and say that he cannot accept the title of High King. The soldier will yell "What about Jarl Elisif?" Ulfric will ask her if she can come out of the Empire and swear allegiance to him. Elisif will agree and become the Jarl of Solitude. After the speech, Ulfric will turn to Galmar and ask how he did it, and after a short conversation, he will leave.

The Stormcloaks of Skyrim are a group of rebellious oppositionists who oppose the Imperial control of the Empire over the northern province. In their ranks are the most daring and fearless Nords, who obey the main leader named Ulfric Stormcloak. The group controls most of the eastern territories and sits in Windhelm.

None of the parties to the conflict is objectively right, so the player himself decides who to choose - the Storm Brothers or the Empire. Skyrim offers to go through two completely different chains of story quests (depending on who Dovakin joins), the outcome of which will determine the fate of the northern province.

How to join the Stormcloaks

This task is a mirror reflection of the introductory quest to the Imperial Legion, but this time the hero must speak with one of the rebels.

If at the beginning of the passage of Skyrim, in Helgen, the player chooses Ralof's company and leaves the caves with him, then the first entry about the quest will appear in his journal. Otherwise, you will have to look for the rebels yourself.

After that, you can advance towards Windhelm, where Ulfric Stormcloak himself is seated. Let's pay attention to his armor: unfortunately, we will not be able to get the same ones, but later we will have the opportunity to get the officer armor of the Storm Brothers of Skyrim. We speak with Ulfric, and then we go to the next room, where we will be introduced to our faithful comrade-in-arms - Galmar.

Acceptance into the ranks

Galmar will load Dovakin with the first task, the completion of which should show one simple thing - whether the hero is worthy of joining the Storm Brothers. We leave for the island, which is located near Windhelm, to kill a couple of ice ghosts.

As soon as the task is completed, we return to the city and find Galmar. We pronounce an oath of allegiance and become one of the Storm Brothers of Skyrim. Armor and other distinctive features of this faction will become available only after completing some quests.

jagged crown

Next, we will be asked to find the Jagged Crown - an amazing artifact with which Ulfric can secure his position. We open the map and follow the indicated mark. Upon arrival, we find a detachment of Imperials who are also hunting for the crown.

Galmar meets us inside the ruins, so it will be easier to fight the legionnaires. In the third hall, we will be asked to go around the top and check the level for safety. We go to the right and pass towards the next hall. A bunch of opponents are waiting for us there, with whom you can quickly deal with - we use an oil puddle and a bowl of fire for this. Soon the rest of the Brothers will join us, and together with them we will reach the Hall of History. We select the claw key and open the locked door with it (wolf symbol, insect symbol, dragon symbol).

We follow further, go up and find a lever behind the bridge - it opens the next door. We fight off the draugrs and, finally, we reach the Jagged Crown. She rests on the head of a fairly strong opponent, so you have to deal with him. At the end of the quest, we will have the opportunity to switch sides and take the crown to the Imperials, that is, we will continue to participate in the war, but already against the rebels. By the way, getting the Brothers' armor in this scenario will be much easier, since it can be removed from killed opponents. Another way is special mods for Skyrim's Storm Brothers.

Message for Whiterun

Having dealt with one task, we get a new one. This time we must go to Whiterun to present a special ax to the jarl of the city. If the jarl accepts it, then this gesture will mean unification with the Storm Brothers of Skyrim, if he does not accept it, there will be war.

We deliver the ax to its destination and appear before Balgruuf and his advisers. After a short meeting, the jarl will refuse the ax, so we will only have to return with this news back to Ulfric.

Battle for Whiterun

After the appearance of the quest in our journal, we go to Whiterun. There, on the outskirts, we will find Galmar and a whole army of Nords. The attack itself will begin after a short but exciting speech by Councilor Ulfric.

We run along with the army of the Storm Brothers towards the city walls, break through the barricades and get to the lever that will lower the main bridge. We penetrate the city and begin to fight with the legionnaires. The main task of the quest is to reach the Dragon's Reach (palace) and kill, so you will have to fight off numerous defenders. By the way, during the battle for Whiterun, the hero will not be able to interact with the locals and go inside houses, shops and taverns.

In Dragon's Reach, in addition to the Jarl, we will face his advisor and the usual garrison who will try to fight back. You can not kill them all - just hit the jarl until he himself stops the battle.

Congratulations, we managed to conquer Whiterun and earn more recognition from Ulfric Stormcloak. As a reward, the hero gets a promotion, a unique gun and, of course, a new task.

Liberation of Skyrim: Capture of Falkreath

The liberation of the northern province is a special operation in which the Stormcloaks capture several forts. By the way, it is at this point in the story that the player can reach the mission "Endless Time" and try on two conflicting sides.

The first region that we will conquer after Whiterun is Falkreath. We go to the rebel camp indicated on the map, and meet Galmar there. He will inform us that the legionnaires captured a group of Storm Brothers, after which they placed them in Fort Neugrad. We will organize a rescue operation together with our old friend Ralof, who will offer us two options for attacking: a direct attack in the forehead or an imperceptible penetration into the fortress.

In any case, the further battle will take place side by side with the released hostages. We deal with opponents in the central building of the fort, talk with Ralof and return to Windhelm, where a well-deserved reward awaits us.

Walkthrough Skyrim: capture the Limit

The next task can only be completed through blackmail and theft. We need to get evidence that Rerik reveres the god Talos, which is forbidden in modern Skyrim.

We make our way to the palace and go towards the personal quarters of the Jarl's assistant (they are located on the right side of the throne). Talos' amulet is stored in one of the chests - we grab it and go to the central hall to talk with Rerik. The jarl will be very frightened and will agree to cooperate, telling about the imperial caravan. A little later, we will go to capture it together with Galmar and Ralof.

We receive a new decree from Ulfric - we need to take control of the Sungard fortress. During the capture process, we will be forced to suppress the imperial soldiers until the percentage of their strength drops to zero.

Disinformer

After the documents are corrected, we go to Morthal and deliver the message under the guise of a messenger.

Battle for Solitude

After several successful captures of fortresses, we will receive an order to capture Solitude. We leave for the gathering place and listen to Ulfric's parting speech. The road to will be teeming with Imperials, so we boldly run forward and deal with everyone who fights on the side of the opponents. The main thing is to get into the yard, as the way up ends in a dead end. In the castle we are waiting for the final confrontation. After a short fight, we have a choice: kill the general ourselves or honor Ulfric.

By the way, if we played for the side of the Imperials, then after killing Ulfric (mirrored quest), Dovakin could get that very heavy armor of the Storm Brothers of Skyrim. At the end of the Battle of Solitude, we are rewarded with the sword of vampire suction.

Joining the Stormcloaks

In order to join the ranks of the Stormcloaks, you need to receive the appropriate task. If at the very beginning of the game you fled from the burning Helgen together with the rebel Ralof, then when you exited the cave, he told you about the civil war in Skyrim and offered to join the Stormcloaks. If you left Helgen with the Imperials, but decided to join the rebels, then to receive this task, it is enough to talk to any soldier of the Stormcloaks, who are easy to find in numerous rebel camps throughout Skyrim.

When you find out about the course of the civil war and the Stormcloaks, the task "Join the Stormcloaks" will appear in your diary. You need to go to Windhelm and talk to the Jarl and the leader of the rebels - Ulfric Stormcloak.

AT stepping into the ranks Stormcloaks

You must go to Serpent Stone Island and survive the battle with the ice wraith. The island is located far to the northeast of the province, among the Sea of Ghosts, east of Winterhold. The island got its name in honor of the Serpent Stone located on it.

In addition to the ice ghost you need, there are no more opponents on the island, and therefore the battle with him should not be difficult. If your character is of a low level, then before going to the island it is better to stock up on potions of health and protection from the cold.

jagged crown

When returning from Serpentstone Isle, before taking the oath, you could catch Ulfric and Galmar in a furious argument over a certain crown. Galmar convinced Ulfric that the legendary symbol of power, the Jagged Crown, was not lost at all, but was in the ancient Nordic ruins of Korvanjund. If the Stormcloaks were to obtain for Ulfric an ancient crown made from the bones and fangs of a dragon, his position would be greatly strengthened in the eyes of most of the inhabitants of Skyrim.

Ulfric agreed to send a small expedition in search of an ancient artifact. You will be instructed to join her and meet with Galmar and other Stormcloak soldiers near the entrance to Korvanjund. Upon arrival, you will see how Galmar Stonefist gives the rebels a brief briefing: the soldiers of the Imperial Legion somehow learned about the plans of the rebels and were able to penetrate Korvanjund first.

Message for Whiterun

Having received the precious crown, Ulfric will thank you for the successfully completed task and give you the next assignment. You need to go to Dragon's Reach and give the Jarl of Whiterun a message from Ulfric - an axe. This is an ancient Nordic custom: if Jarl Balgruuf accepts an ax, then there will be peace, if not, it means war.

After meeting with the jarl and handing over the ax to him, you will become an eyewitness of his conversation with the advisers, at the end of which he will decide to go over to the side of the Empire and refuse to accept Ulfric's ax.

Note:

The Jarl will refuse to talk to you if the Dragon in the Sky main storyline quest is active. In this case, to continue, you will need to complete it first, and only then continue to fulfill Ulfric's order.

After receiving Balgruuf's answer, you must return to Windhelm and return the ax to Ulfric. After Ulfric learns of the refusal of the Jarl of Whiterun and consults with Galmar, he decides that the time has come to move on to drastic measures and start hostilities. The Storm Brothers must gather all their forces and spread the key phrase among the population of Skyrim: "A new day begins, and the sun rises over Whiterun" - it's time to attack the city.

Battle of Whiterun

Note:

Until this task is completed, it will be impossible to visit the "normal" peaceful Whiterun.

You will be sent to a camp near Whiterun under the command of Galmar. Upon arrival, you will see how Galmar gives an inspiring speech to the fighters, after which he will lead everyone on the attack. Your first main goal is the suspension bridge. If you can break through the barricades and bring it down, the main Stormcloak force will be able to get past the outer walls and into the city.

Liberation of Skyrim

This task combines several others, the common goal of which is the complete and gradual reconquest of Skyrim, possession by possession. This part of the Civil War campaign is directly related to the main story quest "The Endless Time", during which you need to conduct peace negotiations between the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion. Depending on your decision, the factions will exchange cities and, accordingly, take control of the new possession.

Thus, based on the results of the exchange, you will have to capture one or another area of Skyrim. For example, if you have not yet completed the main plot of the game, or have not reached the peace negotiations, then the Stormcloaks control Winterhold, and the Imperial Legion controls Markarth and the entire Reach. In this case, if you are fighting on the side of the Stormcloaks, your goal will be to capture Markarth. If the exchange has taken place, then instead of the Limit, you will have to capture Winterhold.

Liberation of Falkreath

Fort Neugrad - rescue of comrades

You need to go to the secret camp of the Stormcloaks in Falkreath, which is located southeast of Riverwood. Galmar will be waiting for you there. He will entrust you with a responsible task - to free your comrades in arms from enemy captivity. They are located in Fort Neugrad, which is located south of Helgen. You must join a group of scouts near the fort.

Upon arrival, you will see that your old friend Ralof is in charge of the operation. He will offer you to sneak into the fort unnoticed and free the prisoners of war in prison. At the end of the conversation with Ralof, you will have a new additional task - to sneak into the fort unnoticed. You can fulfill this condition, or go ahead - in any case, this will not affect the passage of the task.

Releasing the Limit

Note:

This quest will only be received if the main story quest "Endless Time" has not been completed, or if Markarth is still under the control of the Imperial Legion. Otherwise, the task will be skipped.

Military booty

Ulfric will send you to a secret rebel camp in the Reach. Galmar will meet you there and give you a non-standard task: you need to get important information from Rerik, Jarl Markarth's uncle and assistant, using blackmail. Galmar knows that Rerik secretly worships Talos, and this can be a great excuse for blackmail.

You need to go to Markarth and find material to intimidate Rerik. After entering the Understone Fortress and turning into the right corridor from the throne room, you will exit to the door to the quarters of the jarl's adviser. The premises are periodically patrolled by only one guard, and therefore it will be easy to break the lock and enter the room. In the chest of drawers opposite the door, you will find Rerik's Talos amulet, perfectly suited to your task. Having taken it, you must come to the throne room and show the amulet to its owner.

Such evidence will quickly intimidate the steward, and he will want to talk to you alone. Follow him back to his room and demand information about the Imperials in exchange for the amulet and your silence. After listening to you and agreeing to the proposed conditions, Rerik will report that a strategically important imperial caravan loaded with silver and weapons has set off towards Solitude. According to the steward, the content of the caravan is enough to turn the tide of the war. The wagon moves very slowly, and is guarded by a small detachment of soldiers of the Imperial Legion. Also, if you use persuasion in a conversation with the ruler, he will give you a fairly large advance in the form of gold.

Liberation of Hjaalmarch

Disinformation

Ulfric Stormcloak will send you to the next rebel camp northeast of Morthal. There, Galmar Stonefist will entrust you with another non-standard task. Galmar has a plan: he wants to plant fake orders on the legate of the Imperial Legion in Morthal, but first you need to get the real ones.

Your goal is to intercept the messenger on the road from Morthal to Solitude and pick up the real orders of the Imperials. Galmar will tell you that the messenger stops at two places along the way: in the Dragon Bridge settlement at the Four Shields tavern and in Rorikstead at the Frozen Fruit Inn. First you need to ask the owners of the tavern about him. The easiest option for you is to go to one of the two taverns marked with a marker on your map and convince the owner or hostess to tell about the imperial messenger (the innkeeper's "convincing" that the messenger is in danger is best). The tavern owner will inform you that the messenger has just left, but will soon return to the tavern for the night, and the messenger himself will now be marked with a marker on your map.

Liberation of the White Coast

Note:

This quest will only be received if Dawnstar was given to the Imperial Legion during the main story quest "Endless Time". Otherwise, the task will be skipped.

Battle of Fort Dunstad

Ulfric will send you back to Galmar. The Fist of Stone awaits you at the Stormcloak camp, which is located east of the ruins of Korvanjund and west of Windhelm. Upon arrival, you will receive another task to capture the fort, in which another "percentage battle" awaits you: you must destroy the soldiers of the Imperial Legion, whose number is measured in percentage, until their number drops to zero. Go to your squad near Fort Dunstad and clear the fort. After successfully completing the task, return to Ulfric with a report on the capture of the White Shore

Liberation of the Rift

Note:

This quest will only be received if Riften was given to the Imperial Legion during the main story quest "Endless Time". Otherwise, the task will be skipped.

Battle of Fort Greenwall

Stormcloaks (Stormcloaks) is a rebel faction led by Ulfric Stormcloak, and which the player can join if he, of course, has the desire to do so. Their main goal is to defeat the Imperial Legion, which controls most of Skyrim and stop their influence in these lands. They mainly rely on the use of axes and other melee weapons, as well as hit-and-run tactics, to overwhelm the majority of the imperial army. Much of eastern Skyrim is under the control of the Stormcloaks, the only critical neutral ground remaining is Whiterun in the center of Skyrim, which remains independent but friendly to the Imperials.

Joining the Stormcloaks

If you follow Ralof during the escape from Helgen and follow him to Riverwood, he will invite you to join the Stormcloaks and direct you to Windhelm. In addition, the Stormcloak soldiers you meet in Skyrim during your journey will also invite you to join the war on their side, and the quest will be added if it has not already been added.

Whether you started the quest before or not, you can still travel to the Palace of Kings and talk to Galmar Stonehand to join the Stormcloaks. From him you will receive a quest to join the Stormcloaks.

You can also join the Imperial Legion and fight against the Stormcloaks. Passing the quest “Joining the Legion” will automatically fail the quest “Joining the Stormcloaks”. Either way, the next quest for both sides will be to find the Jagged Crown. If you decide to take her to the other side, then you can join her.

Stormcloak Quests

3 achievements (50 points; 2 bronze and 1 silver) will be awarded for completing the Civil War for either side.

Achievements

Stormcloak camps

You can find Stormcloak camps in any Skyrim holding except Eastmarch. They will be marked on the map as a bear paw print. They are not always found and may not exist depending on which side you chose in the civil war and how far along you are. storyline for this side.
  • Haafingar - Stormcloak Camp
